A SOOTHSAYER BIDS YOU BEWARE

The mermaid allure of the traditional birthstone for March never really resonated with me, but I personally identify with the alternate gem, bloodstone. Drawing you into its dark green cryptocrystalline quartz depths with splashes of rust, it’s a real Swiss Army knife of a gem associated with invisibility, courage, longevity, wound staunching, and the ability to ward off melancholy.

I was born on the Ides of March, a day of proven prophecy. Bloodstone speaks to this side of the old-soul Piscean psyche: intuition with historical depth, esoteric archival knowledge, and architecture from a world nearly forgotten.
