A vessel for memories, evoked by the most sentimental of the senses—scent. Positioned within the long tradition of aromatic jewels, this vessel serves as a phenomenological tool of protection, remembrance, and imagination. Scent memory is a kind of time travel, and this vessel serves as a physical link to an intangible space.

This hand-fabricated, miniature sterling silver sphere hinges open to reveal its function as a vinaigrette. It contains a felted ball soaked in scent that evokes a memory. The vessel is alternately perforated and armored with 14K gold spikes on the exterior, both protective and emanative. A gold bail is integrated into the hinge, and the piece is worn on a 24 inch sterling silver chain with 14K gold accents.
